The Exorcist is een Amerikaanse dramaserie van de zender FOX. 
De serie ging in première op 23 september 2016.

De Exorcist serie is een moderne kijk op de gelijknamige klassieke horrorfilm uit 1973. 
De psychologische thriller speelt zich af vier decennia na de film. 

In The Exorcist is de vooruitstrevende, ambitieuze en medelevende Pater Tomas Ortega 
het nieuwe gezicht van de katholieke kerk. Hij leidt een rustig leventje in de buitenwijken 
van Chicago. Aan de andere kant van de wereld staat de meedogenloze en doortastende 
Pater Marcus Brennan recht tegenover het kwaad. Hij is een moderne Tempelier Ridder, 
opgevoed door het Vaticaan met als doel oorlog te voeren tegen de vijand.Tussen beiden 
bevindt zich de familie Rance, leden van Tomas' parochie. Henry Rance wordt helemaal gek 
aangezien zijn dochter Katherine niet uit haar kamer wil komen. De jongste dochter Casey 
hoort rare geluiden tussen de muren en zijn vrouw Angela heeft angstaanjagende dromen. 
Angela denkt dat er iets mis is met het huis en vraagt Pater Tomas om hulp. Een confrontatie 
met Pater Marcus volgt en gezamenlijk blijken ze het juiste duo dat het kwaad kan bestrijden.
