The King Who Tricked Hitler. 2016.


Recounting the events of August 23 1944, when 23-year old King Michael I of Romania removed the government led by Ion Antonescu, which had aligned Romania with Nazi Germany, after the Axis front in north-eastern Romania collapsed in the face of a successful Soviet offensive. The king then offered to put Romania's battered armies on the side of the Allies.
