Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton (Gulfport (Mississippi), waarschijnlijk 20 september 1885 ? Los Angeles (California), 10 juli 1941) was een Amerikaanse pianovirtuoos, een bigband dirigent en één van de allereerste jazzcomponisten. Hij speelt een centrale rol in de geschiedenis van de jazzmuziek en claimde zelf de jazz te hebben uitgevonden.
