Lena and Stef decide to not punish Brandon after the previous night's events, since doing such is not like him (and despite being foolish he had good intentions). While at work, Stef mentions this to Mike, and he disagrees with Lena and Stef's decision.

Meanwhile, the two moms are deciding what to do with Callie and Jude after Bill, Callie and Jude's social worker, tells them more about their previous history and apologizes for not being available to help Callie save Jude himself. Lena introduces Jude to the school. At school, Talya tells Brandon she is surprised Callie is still in school and not sent back to Juvie for what she did. Lena finds a note at the school mentioning the pills, and the school is searched by security guards, but nothing is found. Jesus later reveals that he didn't take his pill, making him jumpy, to save Mariana from being discovered.

Jesus later gets into a fight after defending Mariana's friend, Lexi, from her ex-boyfriend. At lunch, Brandon goes to the music room and sees Callie eating there. He agrees to let Callie stay while he plays and he learns she plays the guitar. After Callie tells him about her mom dying he comforts her. Talya sees this and becomes jealous.

Later that afternoon, Stef comes home from work with Mike. They have an argument over Brandon's punishment, and Lena gets mad at Stef for taking Mike's side. Mike grounds Brandon which angers him. He strikes back by telling Mike that he's never around or been there for him much, and he wants to know who to take orders from. Stef gets angry and demands Brandon apologize to Mike over the phone.

Afterwards, Lena and Stef reveal their decision on Jude and Callie. They decide that they will let them stay until Bill can find them a permanent home, but they won't be staying forever. Until then, Jude will bunk with Jesus while Callie stays with Mariana, much to her distress. When Lexi comes over to help Mariana move some stuff from her room for Callie, she has a secret kiss with Jesus. They don't get to say anything else because of Mariana.

Talya decides to have lunch with Callie and hints that she is jealous of her and whatever she has with Brandon. Jesus witnesses this and tells Brandon to do something special for Talya since she's clearly jealous. Brandon calls her and decides to sneak out to come see her later that day.

Meanwhile, Kelsey, Mariana's friend who got drugs from her, is caught sniffing Jesus's pills by Lena. Kelsy tells her that Callie gave it to her. After school Lena and Stef accuse Callie and she says she did not do it, but doesn't reveal that it was Mariana. When asked why Kelsy would lie, Callie guesses that it's because she is an easy target, having been in juvie. Lena and Stef don't seem to believe her though, which seems to offend Callie. Jesus convinces Mariana to tell them the truth, so that they don't send Callie away. She asks for him to accompany her while she tells them and he agrees. Jesus ends up voluntarily taking the blame for Mariana when he sees her terrified face, saying that he gave away his pills. Lena and Stef later abashedly apologize to Callie for not trusting her.

Near the end of the episode, Brandon sees Callie playing with the guitar that he gave her. He ends up teaching her some chords and they end up playing with each other, with a piano and guitar respectively. During their music session, Talya texts Brandon on their plans for that night. He ends up lying to her, saying that he can't get out of the house, to stay with Callie.
