Theodore Walter (Sonny) Rollins (7 september 1930, New York City) is een Amerikaans jazzmuzikant en tenorsaxofonist. Sonny Rollins heeft al een lange productieve carrière in de jazz. Hij begon op zijn elfde, en speelde al voor zijn 20e samen met Thelonious Monk. Tegenwoordig toert hij nog steeds en neemt nog altijd albums op. Leeftijdgenoten en muzikanten waarmee hij opnam heeft hij overleefd: John Coltrane, Miles Davis en Art Blakey.
