During a party held at the Fosters' home, Stef and Lena learn that their friends — Kelly and Jenna — are getting a divorce after a twenty year marriage as their relationship is not passionate anymore. Lena didn't want her and Stef to end up like them so she talk to Stef about having a date night so they could try to spend more time with each other. Meanwhile, Jesus and Lexi end up in a predicament of possibly becoming teen parents after they have unprotected sex. Lexi is afraid of telling her parents as they are strictly religious so Jesus decides to buy the morning after pill. Due to the fact that he is under-aged, he asks a woman at the pharmacy to buy it for him. Coincidentally, Stef was at the same pharmacy and catches Jesus outside. Stef and Lena debate if they should give the pill to Lexi. In the end, Stef goes behind Lena's back and gives the pill to her. Mariana struggles to impress a poet, Garret, even going as far as self-piercing her nose and writing poetry. Jude's attempts at making new friends at his school fail when he wears blue nail polish at school, causing him to face an altercation with some bullies. His only friend, Connor, ditches him in the beginning, but in the end, he supports Jude. Callie and Wyatt start a relationship, angering Brandon in the process. After Wyatt and Callie breaks into someone's home without her knowledge of this, the owner comes home and calls the cops on them. After escaping, Callie calls Brandon to pick her and Wyatt up due to the fact that she is still on probation. When Brandon and Callie are on the front steps of their house after dropping Wyatt off, Brandon reveals his true feelings to her by stating that he doesn't want her dating anyone, hinting that he is into her in a big way (love). Callie rejects him after stating that she and Jude would only get sent away. She reveals that in the past, she and Jude had lived in a similar foster home setting and there was this boy (presumably Liam) who she had liked. In the end, the boy got her and Jude kicked out of their foster home because he claimed that Callie was the one coming on to him and his parents did not want their son to be in a relationship with a foster girl. At the end of the episode, the family goes out to watch Garret perform in a poetry slam. The family returns home and Stef and Lena remain in the car rekindling their romance.
