Deze DVD ontving ik eergisteren volkomen onverwacht op mijn deurmat, verzonden vanuit een Engelse webwinkel. Na bekijken van de hoes en titel begreep ik meteen de afzender: mijn Southern Rock Redneck vriend uit Wenen, Oostenrijk.

Het is voorlopig nog geen Kerst, maar dit is toch een hele leuke DVD om te kijken.
Het blijkt na een hoop gegoegel een aflevering van een tv-serie te zijn.

Duck Dynasty is an American reality television series on A&E that portrays the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business, Duck Commander. The West Monroe, Louisiana business makes products for duck hunters, primarily a duck call called Duck Commander. The Robertson men—brothers Phil and Si, and Phil's sons Jase, Willie, and Jep—are known for their long beards and their religious views.[1] The family was previously featured on the series Benelli Presents Duck Commander and its spin-off Buck Commander, which still airs on the Outdoor Channel.

The show has broken several ratings records on both A&E and cable television as a whole. The fourth season premiere drew 11.8 million viewers; the most-watched nonfiction cable series in history.

In mid-December 2013, controversy from an interview Phil Robertson gave to GQ Magazine resulted in an indefinite suspension by A&E, due to remarks he had made which were being widely-reported in the media as "anti-gay". The suspension started a "nationwide debate about tolerance and religion." Following public pressure on A&E to lift the suspension, he was reinstated nine days later.

The show had $80 million in advertising sales for the first nine months of 2013, and merchandise has generated another $400 million in revenue, about half of which is through Walmart.

Deze dvd heeft geen NL subs, alleen Engels (voor gehoorgestoorden) en Spaans.

Uiteraard ben ik daarna verder gaan zoeken en wat blijkt: Duck Dynasty schijnt een populaire US TV-serie te zijn, inmiddels bezig aan zijn vijfde seizoen. 

De eerste 4 seizoenen daarvan heb ik inmiddels alles in .mkv bestand binnen, zonder ondertitels uiteraard. Ik vrees dat ik daarvan voor bovengenoemde vriend dvd's moet gaan maken en dan wil ik die hier ook wel spotten. Mits daar belangstelling voor is.........
