Nirvana was een band uit Seattle bestaande uit een grunge-trio. 

Nirvana wordt samen met de bands Soundgarden, Pearl Jam en Alice In Chains gezien als de grondlegger van de grungestromingen in de moderne popmuziek. 

Nirvana was een van de succesvolste bands uit de jaren negentig.
