Gigi said that making this movie was, “a dream come true in many ways.” You can imagine that the prize of a coveted Volcom movie among the greats (The Garden, Subjekt Haakonsen, Escramble) was one of the ways, but the bottomless powder that appeared in every single shot of the movie must have been one of the biggest dreams come true.
The tight crew behind this film consisted of Gigi, whichever friends he decided to invite along on his travels: Nicolas Muller, Bryan Iguchi, Blair Habenicht, Jake Blauvelt …; Jake Price acting as director, filmer, and editor; and UK DJ Baron who’s responsible for entire custom soundtrack (he also invited his friends like Slayer’s Dave Lombardo and Jamie Lynn to collaborate). you can listen to the entire soundtrack here.
The movie opens with Gigi riding down gravity-skimming Alaskan lines making it look so easy. Everyone in the movie makes everything look effortless—it’s a half hour of uninterrupted spine slashing, natural transition sessioning, powder buttering, cornice-skimming action filmed in Alaska, Jackson Hole, the Northwest, Gigi’s home resort in Austria, and Chile—a movie that you’ll want looping endlessly on your screen all winter long. A movie that makes you want to ride.
The crew is embarking on an ambitious worldwide 18-stop movie tour hitting a new spot every single night in September. See dates below.
