Synopsis:

A poor barefoot young man from the country arrives in the city to start work with the 
friend of his dead father, a manager at a dyeing workshop who is trained in kung-fu but 
has retired from the world of martial arts. The dye shop is owned by a kind woman who
is being pressured by a local strongman who is trying to steal her family secrets for his 
own workshop. When the workshop is burnt down the barefoot kid decides to fight back 
using his impressive kung-fu skills, but just invites further trouble. 

Inhoud:

The Barefoot Kid reist van het platteland naar de stad om te gaan werken bij de vriend 
van zijn overleden vader. Hij gaat werken in de weverij, waar deze vriend manager is en 
het lijkt dat hij eindelijk gelukkig gaat worden. Maar dan komt hij in aanraking met een 
bende criminelen, ingehuurd door jaloerse concurrenten, en blijkt dat hij beschikt over 
uitstekende kung-fu technieken. Bang om in een vicieuze cirkel van geweld en wraak te
komen stuurt de eigenares van de weverij hem weg. De vijand ziet hier zijn mogelijkheid
en huurt de jongen in. Natuurlijk kan dat niet goed gaan en moet de jongen kiezen bij 
wie zijn loyaliteit ligt...
