COMPUTER MIND is an exciting musical collective that aims to change everybody's perspective on autism with their Progressive Rock/Metal opera “THE ASPIE PROJECT” and give people with a disorder just that little boost of confidence that they can reach everything. This is not just an album, made by just a band. The creator (writer, composer and bassist) of this project, Mike van den Heuvel, has an autism spectrum disorder himself; Asperger’s Syndrome. He has managed to learn himself how to deal with it. His passion for music mainly helped him to deal with his problems. Because of his great developments, and his passionate love for music, 
he wanted to create an album in which he could show the world how he managed to turn his problems into gifts. 

Almost three years ago Mike van den Heuvel started to search band members who would join him in his quest. Over these three years he has found many amazing artists who wanted to do their magic for this album. 

The album is divided in various roles, based on the true story of the creator himself. There is a father-role, sung by Damian Wilson (known from great bands like THRESHOLD, STAR ONE, AYREON), a mother-role, sung by Marcela Bovio (known from STREAM OF PASSION), and the narrator’s role, the doctor, by Arjen Anthony Lucassen (AYREON, VENGEANCE, THE GENTLE STORM). Mike has arranged these great artists with only tons of willpower and stubbornness. 
In this album is also a main character, this role is sung by the great singer Wilmer Waarbroek (AYREON), and the role of a girlfriend, sung by Marjan Welman (AUTUMN and also AYREON). This variety of amazing voices together makes a powerful and emotional set of songs, which will give you goosebumps without any doubt. 

The music itself varies from shredding guitars, powerful chorusses, screaming guitar solo’s, to sensitive piano pieces, with a hint of touching violins. You could call it progressive rock, but because of the storyline and the number of artists you could rather speak of a true rock opera. This could not have been possible without the other amazing musicians, here is a list of all the musicians who have also put their heart in this project:
