En hier dan vers van de pers de laatste aflevering van seizoen 5, eergisteren op de Amerikaanse TV uitgezonden. Met dank weer aan de torrent seeders! 

Ik ben nog steeds druk bezig hier om van alle afleveringen van alle vijf seizoenen dvd's te maken, maar dat kost me veel meer tijd dan ik gepland had. Ook ondervind ik vertraging vanwege privé-zaken (ik heb ook nog een leven buiten internet!), maar ik hoop en verwacht aankomend weekend te beginnen met het posten daarvan. Even geduld dus nog!

Duck Dynasty is an American reality television series on A&E that portrays the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business, Duck Commander. The West Monroe, Louisiana business makes products for duck hunters, primarily a duck call called Duck Commander. The Robertson men—brothers Phil and Si, and Phil's sons Jase, Willie, and Jep—are known for their long beards and their Christian views. The family was previously featured on the series Benelli Presents Duck Commander and its spin-off Buck Commander, which still airs on the Outdoor Channel.

The show has broken several ratings records on both A&E and cable television as a whole. The fourth season premiere drew 11.8 million viewers; the most-watched nonfiction cable series in history.

In mid-December 2013, controversy from an interview Phil Robertson gave to GQ Magazine resulted in an indefinite suspension by A&E, due to remarks he made which were being widely-reported in the media as "anti-gay". The suspension started a "nationwide debate about tolerance and religion." Following public pressure on A&E to lift the suspension, he was reinstated nine days later.

The show had $80 million in advertising sales for the first nine months of 2013, and merchandise has generated another $400 million in revenue, about half of which is through Walmart.

Episode 10: Stand By Mia
Mia is about to enter the hospital for surgery on her cleft lip and palate, and Jase sets up a family reunion party at her request. Willie and the guys make a mess of setting up decorations and have fun goofing around with a portable wrestling ring. Egged on by Jep, Phil and his brother-in-law get on each other's nerves as the three go duck hunting. Dozens of Robertson relatives turn out for the party, with a wrestling match featuring Hacksaw Jim Duggan as the main event.
Note: The one-hour season finale. The closing credits were followed by a video clip in which the family accompanied Mia to the hospital for her surgery.
