Het verhaal van een atletische mijnwerker die de kans krijgt zich te bewijzen in het rugby. Al snel wordt hij een begrip in de rugbywereld en staat hij bekend als de hardste en arrogantste speler van allemaal. Hij krijgt een vriendin, maar hun relatie is gebaseerd op seks en kent geen emotionele waarde. Op de bruiloft van één van de spelers krijgen ze ruzie en zij verlaat hem.
